Presentation Details
Ms. Zabawa will take you through the basic federal and state laws that govern mental health treatment record disclosures in Wisconsin. After laying this framework, Ms. Zabawa will explore some case problems that social workers may experience in their daily practice, such as if/when to inform authorities of a credible threat involving a client, what to do when faced with a subpoena to testify or disclose records, and special issues involving insurance and minors.
