Done Deals – The Big Picture

The success of a client's deal is about much more than the transaction itself. It's about the very future of the client's business. That's why, at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C., we're committed to not just getting the deal done, but doing the deal that works best for each client. Our Done Deals – The Big Picture deal books highlight some of the transactions our clients have entrusted to us. We hope they leave you with a better understanding of our capabilities.

WHD Forethought 2013

At Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C., our mission is Client Success. That means our focus always remains on our clients and their goals. We are keenly aware of our role in helping clients achieve those goals. More than attorneys, we are trusted advisers, helping our clients look ahead to see strategic issues, or avoid costly problems. That’s the idea behind Forethought. 2013 marks our third edition of this popular resource, which provides a sneak peek at the critical legal issues we think our clients and friends may face in the coming year, or at least subjects we feel are worth discussing in greater detail. From how to build a family business legacy, to how informal communications can lead to an enforceable contractual amendment, to employment considerations during President Obama’s second term, the 2013 edition covers relevant topics that we think are worth your time to consider.

WHD Whyte Lights

“Whyte Lights” is a program that supports our communities in a very unique way. In the month of October, WHD made $100 available to every employee who wished to use the money, at their discretion, to support a local organization, an individual in need, or even a complete stranger who could use a little help. The participation was tremendous and the results were moving.

We’ve captured these stories in our Whyte Lights publication.

The Wisconsin Chapter of the ABA Property Tax Deskbook, Fourteenth Edition 2009

Joseph A. Pickart, Douglas A. Pessefall, John C. Healy and Jennifer Jin of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek's State and Local Tax Team have co-authored the Wisconsin Chapter of the ABA Property Tax Deskbook (Fourteenth Edition 2009). Mr. Pickart also serves as a Regional Editor for the publication. This book provides all of the information that tax managers, attorneys, and accountants are most likely to need about property taxes. Organized by state, each chapter is written each year by some of the most experienced property tax practitioners in that state. The volume includes a searchable CD-ROM. Each state's chapter sets out the most important principles and positions in that state with citations to the pertinent statutes, regulations, and case law. In addition, the authors have collected and organized all-important interpretive information that frequently must be gleaned from rulings, bulletins, and other 'local lore' (much of which would otherwise be impossible for practitioners in other states to find). The chapters are organized in a uniform format to aid the user in quickly and easily finding guidance on particular property tax issues and to facilitate multi-state research. To help familiarize the reader with the book's organization, a model chapter outline is provided at the beginning of the book; however, property taxes are by no means uniform among the states, and the chapter authors identify the important local variations. Also of note is a special definitions section in each chapter, which sets forth the meanings of key statutory terms. For more information and to place an order, please click here.

Certificate of Title Law—Wisconsin

WHD attorney Edward J. Heiser authored a chapter entitled "Certificate of Title Law—Wisconsin" in the book Compendium of State Certificate of Title Laws, published by the American Bar Association. This guidebook identifies and describes the applicable certificate of title (CT) law of each state in a convenient format by restating and analyzing those laws. The guidebook acts as a finding aid and a summary of the applicable law, as well as a source that helps lawyers become more familiar with the relevant points at an early stage of the analysis and in an easy-to-read and understand format.
